* My creation smells of sheep, is this normal?

Ha, yes. Made from 100% lambs wool, your creation will indeed have a subtle fragrance. This is nothing to worry about and over time will fade.

* How is felt made from wool?

Felt is a textile material that, in our case, is made by using pure New Zealand wool fibres. Produced by matting, condensing and pressing the fibres together, we use a process called wet felting.

In the wet felting process, hot water is applied to layers of sheep hairs, while repeated agitation and compression causes the fibres to hook together or weave together into a single piece of fabric. This is shaped to then create our different creations.

* How do I care for my creation?

Follow the link below to our care and maintenance page

* How can I make the entrance hole larger?

If the entrance hole is too narrow, simply cut it with sharp scissors around the perimeter.

* My creation is slightly larger/smaller than specified on your website?

Please appreciate that all creations are skilfully handcrafted using natural materials. As a result, there may be fractional discrepancies between the exact measurements. Please note as a result that all measurements are an approximation.

* What is lanolin?

It is a soft, yellow, waxy substance secreted by the sebaceous glands of sheep. Its purpose is to waterproof and protect the wool. Apparently it is the smell of this which cats are attracted too.
